Stop Conversation Fires, Speak Giraffe!

August 28, 2020 By admin Leave a Comment

Stop conversation fires!

How to Have a Conversation to Facilitate Understanding…

During this time of tremendous change how do you navigate your relationships with those close to you – your partner, children, family, co-workers, and friends? The breaking down of what we are familiar with can bring some anxiety or feelings of sadness and a multitude of different emotions and beliefs.

Finding our Truth is tricky. But what works for you individually and what works for your family can be very personal.  Sharing that with those close to you – whether it is your children or other adults can be a challenge. How do you handle challenging conversations?

As an adult how do you do this as you sort out your own truth?  How do you stand in your power with the adults around you?  If you’re a parent, you have the additional weight of having to make new, difficult decisions that can add to your already challenging days. As if being a parent in “normal” circumstances wasn’t enough.

Being Heart-Thoughtful Eases the Burden

Being Heart-Thoughtful can strengthen your personal blueprint for resiliency. Being Heart-Thoughtful can help you to have conversations during challenging times that facilitate understanding and cooperation. Being Heart-Thoughtful can support you in being less stressed and creating happier, more resilient relationships! I know what you are thinking, “How can I be heart-thoughtful? It’s so hard right now!”

The Language of the Giraffe Can Save the Day

Navigating and speaking our truth with other adults is not really any different than with children. When a difference of opinion or a refusal of a request shows up you can add flame to the fire and speak “Jackal”, judge or blame or judge which is so easy to do, or be the giraffe, listen, observe, and express feelings and needs.

If you are looking for some relief, below you’ll find ideas and resources to help you  to  become more Heart-Thoughtful .

The biggest gift you can give yourself right now is to be “Heart-Thoughtful” to yourself, your family, friends and those you interact with, as that will change our world,

Bonnie

How this Epic Fail??? “Pushed” Me into the Flow

March 9, 2020 By admin Leave a Comment

“It is a wonderful easy to read with thoughtful, yet easy ideas to live your best life.”

“This book has strategies for a particular place and purpose, and different conditions.  You’ve covered the whole gamut of life situations and life strategies.”

“Take any or some of these on a daily basis and watch your energy levels transform and notice how you will blossom and open yourself to the Star that you are.”

As we move more deeply into the transformative energy of 2020 …

… “it is really important to finish up the inner-work this month, and especially thru this final cocooning week of retrograde. We will continue to clean up and balance our energy, to pull our parts back, to establish & solidify healthy boundaries, and to tie up loose ends…well, all year likely…” ~Lauren Gorgo

We are always being given opportunities to let go of old programming. Once it’s been transformed, we are enabled to connect more deeply to our own sovereign selves, to the divine and to our purpose here.

This purpose is your beingness and what gives you joy on this planet.

How do you do this?

Go with the flow. How many times have you heard that? What does that really mean?Sometimes it’s easy to stay in the present and move with the shifts and changes. Sometimes it’s not so easy. What’s helpful to reach the deeper insight and stay connected to your intuition? Let yourself experience the emotions. Then be curious about what that message is in the situation.

Having a win-win, giving-receiving heart and mindset is important for our purpose and joy to show up in ways we never imagined.

Epic failure or maybe not?

Jan Rysdon, co-author with me of both Heart-Thoughtful Books, and I had created quite a bit of buzz around our Facebook Live book launch. Not only did we have virtual friends coming to the party, we invited friends who had read Be Your Most Powerful Self to be with us. We planned a physical live party with champagne, food, and goodies.

The computer was set up and in place – ready for the green light to record from the Sparkle Your Light Facebook page. We were posed, poised and ready! Alas … technology was not on our side. The Facebook live video didn’t open. Not perfect, but on to plan B.

Instead, we recorded live video on the Zoom platform. Unfortunately, when the file came in it was only the audio part of the party-no video.

After doing some breathing and expressing gratitude for the support we had, I released a breath. In that breath, the thought occurred to me to take pictures and use the audio recording. We still had our party and we have a video to share with you. Watch it here!

All of this has caused me to stop and think about the intentions for our two heart-thoughtful books Be Your Most Powerful Self and A Blueprint for Happy, Resilient, Parents, Teachers & Kids. It became clear to me that our books are not being introduced to the world in the traditional way, and the new ways can pose a challenge! I just had to let go of old programming and look at the new opportunities and ways to connect with those who are looking for these heart-thoughtful guidance.

It’s our desire to support women and children in being heart-thoughtful, present, and focused -giving them the ability to be resilient. We know this happens one person at a time but there’s a faster trajectory in community.

So, as we share our not so epic failure launch party, we ask you to share it too. You never know where the conversation may lead – but with an attitude of non-attachment, we all may find a shift in direction. This is a year where the energies are challenging, exciting and supporting what is heart-soul intended.

Where ever you are on your journey keep being curious about what happens that may look like failure and where you are being led next,

Bonnie

“We are being called to first to (1) trust in ourselves and 2) to focus these energies with discipline, to be really vigilant with our mastery.” ~Lauren Gorgo

Kindness and Gratitude Walk Hand in Hand

November 12, 2019 By admin Leave a Comment

** Be sure to read through the two special messages at the end**

Gratitude and kindness are powerful forces. And, it’s exciting that more and more people are becoming aware that kindness and gratitude aren’t just for the month of November and Thanksgiving. Sometimes we delightfully find kindness and gratitude coming from unexpected places and people.

“I want to do this every day,” says a 9-year-old, third-grader, after handing out “light up kindness bracelets” to the staff as a part of the Kindness Project. The Kindness Project/Kindness Squad was started by a group of amazing parents at a local K-8 Charter school who saw a need to actively involve children in acts of kindness. The project is composed of several aspects including a classroom activity and a monthly activity geared to uplift, show appreciation, and demonstrate kindness to the staff.

This month, walking from classroom to classroom, the children’s faces lit up as they handed out the light-up kindness bracelets to the staff. Many of them smiled in appreciation and others responded excitedly, immediately placing their Kindness gift on their wrists. It was heartwarming and uplifting to watch.

Most heart-opening, however, was hearing a young girl’s excitement and seeing how she was truly touched by the energy of kindness she felt as she handed bracelets to the staff. A young girl, who I suspect, doesn’t always feel the energy of kindness. But she had a seed planted that day, one which down the road may affect a choice she has to make in a positive manner, rather than a way that wouldn’t be beneficial to her.

The “light up” bracelets we gave the staff read, “We appreciate your light”. On the back were some ”kudos for kindness” ideas. Most important was the message on the bracelet to remember to be kind to yourself. Kudos for Kindness ideas came from the book I co-authored with Jan Rysdon A Blueprint for Happy, Resilient, Parents, Teachers & Kids.

“Why be kind?

The bottom line is it makes you feel good. Kindness can boost your self-esteem as you view yourself as a compassionate person.” Gratitude and kindness towards yourself and others changes how the world looks from the inside out.

Since September, I’ve been truly grateful to be a part of The Kindness project. Supporting teachers and parents in helping children have more experiences involving kindness, gratitude, respect, responsibility, diversity, and understanding is a gift. Teachers and those who work in schools aren’t often appreciated for their hard work and the care they give our children and teens. I appreciate that I can be part of this project.

This activity was also a very good reminder to be as kind to yourself as you are to others.

I encourage you to spend time this month recalling back through the year where you found kindness in unsuspecting places and how that act of kindness turned into gratitude and appreciation.

Let November gratitude’s kindle the flames of kindness to others and yourself all year,

Bonnie

Move from Hijacked to Heart-Thoughtful

October 6, 2019 By admin Leave a Comment

Are there days when you feel like you sparkle with confidence, clarity and a sense of calm? And no matter what comes your way or how busy you are, you find whatever happens all works out – even the challenges?

Those are the days you’re sparkling your light and being heart-thoughtful!

Sparkling your light and being “heart-thoughtful” is the natural partnering with your heart and your mind. You may have –

  • Stopped to take a breath before you made a decision
  • Trusted your intuition
  • Listened to your body when you needed food or a quick break
  • Stopped when you were tired
  • Had focus and concentration for a project
  • Didn’t react in a difficult situation
  • Reminded yourself to stay in the present moment

You may have had compassion for yourself or someone else or took a moment to be appreciative of someone or something. You can also, without a doubt, remember a day you were totally highjacked and disconnected. There was no light to be seen, no sparkle to be found. You lost You, and  then navigated the day without any sense of ease. Then…

Overwhelm set in.

You moved into automatic pilot just to get through the day. You completed what needed to be done, possibly missing the small things, feeling tired or making mistakes. You were hijacked by your body’s natural protective system to fight, flight, or freeze response . Yes, the stress response.

In those moments you’re helpless to know how to do something different. You are held captive by your nervous system to “survive” the day. You’ve been disconnected from your heart and mind and your ability to listen to your intuition. It’s no different for your children. They may sparkle with confidence leaving the house but lose their sparkle before they get home.

The Sparkle Your Light site was created as a place of hope, inspiration and wonder for you, our visitor to find ideas on how to stay head and heart connected. Our  intention is for you to find books, audios, websites, programs and products to support and inspire You and your children to Keep Your Sparkle, your individual light.

New…New…New

Our site has some new sparkle to make it easier for you to navigate. And we have added some new products as well.

I’m happy to also announce a new book I co-authored with Jan Segers Rysdon  A Blueprint for Happy, Resilient, Parents, Teachers & Kids  which gives you 24 easy to use  self-empowerment strategies  to strengthen your foundation to love and live your life with less stress and more ease, with adaptations for children and teachers. As you use these strategies you empower yourself and your children and change happens! Check it out! This is the first book in a series on Heart-Thoughtful Mindfulness now on Amazon. Or read more at  A Blueprint for Happy Resilient Parents, Teachers, and Kids. on the Sparkle Your Light site.

And look for: Be Your Most Powerful Self: 15 Heart-thoughtful Strategies to nurture your inner confidence, connection & calm coming soon

The  intention of the Heart-Thoughtful Mindfulness books is to offer guidance within the pages to support You (and your children and those around you) from getting permanently hijacked. These are simple strategies require just a few minutes for you to feel clear, calm and focused (heart-thoughtful) again. Using these strategies you’ll  more easily be able to stay connected to your inner guidance and turn down the noise of overwhelm, making your day and life a bit easier.

Be Heart-Thoughtful,

Bonnie

2 Sensitive or 2 Emotional? 2 Moons to Celebrate You Part 2

September 28, 2016 By admin Leave a Comment

Two Moons to Celebrate You! Part 2

What Color are Your Champagne Bubbles?

Wow! What a month and I know you’ve felt it! You’ve probably caught that strong vibe of change in the air, too.

We had a great response to the blog about people’s connection to being highly sensitive, and to the harvest moon celebration. (http://sparkleyourlightbooks.com/2-sensitive-emotional-celebrate-you/)

Unfortunately, in our society, we as women are under pressure to be restrained in our emotional lives. You may have learned to suppress your feelings or have been disregarded because your decisions were not based in “rational” thinking.

Consider this. Women are naturally known to use their sensitivity and intuition. As a parent you have a finely tuned sensitivity to your children. This is a sign of health, NOT disease. You trust that. In the past if you’ve allowed these aspects in other areas of your life to make you feel less than you are, now is the time to shed the weight of unworthiness and less than, wherever it may still be lurking.

As a highly sensitive person, parent, or grandparent honor that you are wired in a way that makes you more open to sensing what isn’t evident. Your intuition is your sparkling light, which allows you to shed light on a situation. Celebrating your gifts will help to recognize and honor your children’s gifts.

Two Ways to Celebrate Your Super Powers and Be Supported

water-droplet

“What a transition! Every particle, fractal, facet, droplet, template, structure, you-name-it, has gone whoosh into a bazillion sparkles of light, waiting to either dissolve or coalesce into something truly wonderful ~ called your life experience.” Nalini – chaliceofwisdom.com

It’s so easy to forget how being highly sensitive is truly wonderful while you may still be recovering or feeling some of the chaotic, topsy turvey energy of the last cycle still moving about. You may also have noticed your children acting up a bit or out of sorts.

Here’s the good news. There’s a new moon on Saturday, October 1st. This new moon is a special one as it is the first one after the ending of the 9-year cycle (some say a 26,000 year cycle). During the full moon you celebrated your accomplishments and really owning who you are. (And the kids will settle down a bit!)

Now, ride the energy of the new moon on Saturday, October 1st. Step through the doorway into the new energy on the planet. This new energy is calling you to go inward into your soul-connected self to celebrate your true self. It’s time to feel confident and joyful, dancing freely with life without the stories of less than or shame in any area of life.

New moons are the most spiritual and creative moons of the lunar cycle.

“It’s imperative to get to know yourself as you are becoming. Command your focus, presence, Self-patience, Self-kindness, Self-awareness and Self-centeredness in every moment. Crucial it is to concentrate your Presence in a stabilized field long enough to let your True Self settle in.” ~ Maureen Moss\

Let your true self and your gifts of intuition and sensitivity follow this new energy. Move into harmony and trust with your higher self and the divine plan. Celebrate as you use your gifts to amplify the feminine energy of unlimited possibilities powered from within you. What wants to birth inside and out?

“BE the way of the champagne bubble and be lifted into the love field with all the

light that you are.” ~Nalini

What do your sparkling champagne bubbles of life look like? What do they feel like?

Feel into your deeply sensitive and intuitive self. What is calling to you deep from within your Soul? What wants to expand and what spark wants to flame into new something new? What lights you up and gives you joy? How can you celebrate being a parent?  Celebrate the divine plan that will lead you there gracefully as you listen to your inner whisperings.

Let your super power gift of sensitivity be your radar and your super power of intuition (not fear, worry or anxiety) guide you.

P.S.Have you received a present and tried to figure out what it was? You picked it up to see how heavy it was, shook it, tipped it upside down, maybe even sniffed it? Then you unwrapped it and were delightfully surprised with what was inside? In the next post take a peek at Daily Presents: 8 Ways to Fan Your Inner Spark a way to celebrate you and walk hand and hand with you true self! You can receive an unexpected present every day!

2 Sensitive or 2 Emotional-2 Moons to Celebrate You!

September 15, 2016 By admin Leave a Comment

2 Sensitive or 2 Emotional?

2 Moons and Celebrate You this Month!

Harness the Energy of the Moon Part 1

crying-girl

September is a wonderful time to celebrate you! Celebrating the magic of your sensitivity and your intuition! It’s also a time to trust in yourself and your success in navigating the challenges and strong energies of the past few years.

If you are a highly sensitive person, you’ve heard “you’re too emotional” more than once. You may have thought that about yourself or about one of your children  (or about how dramatic one of them behaves).

In the past you’ve had to defend or explain your emotions. This makes sense as you are affected by your connection to the energies around you, especially the moon.

The cycles of the moon have always been associated with the feminine (and the sun, with the masculine). This month (this week!) is a great time to tap deeply into your sensitivity and harness the energy of energy of the full moon. (Children may seem more emotional during these times or have trouble sleeping.)

harvest-moon

The Harvest Moon on Friday, September 16th provides a great opportunity to celebrate the evolution you have made through your beautifully sensitive nature. The person you are today has emerged by allowing you to develop into you from the inside out.

This September also heralds the ending of a nine-year cycle. Think back over the last nine years and all that has transpired.

Whew, thank goodness this is an ending point, right?

A cycle, as Maureen Moss says, where “Time and again we fell for who we were not. Time and again we gave our power away. Time and again we innocently turned on ourselves. No more.”

Take in those words! The energies have shifted in way they never have before. We are at a different junction on planet earth right now. Our true selves are emerging. (And, your children deserve the best version of you!)

The energy and light coming to the planet has assisted in our shift. These years have not been easy!

Think about how you have used your sensitivity to guide you; to allow you to follow your intuition and trust yourself more. Look at where you let go of old relationships, firmed up your personal boundaries and navigated the challenges and strong energies of the past few years. You’ve done it!

Now is the time to celebrate all you have learned about taking yourself out of toxic environments and relationships. And how you now know how to better take care of yourself and your body. Be joyful that you see that making more time for you in your life is beneficial to everyone around you including the ones you love the most and – most especially you!

champagne-bottle

Now, kick up your heels, turn on the music, and dance! Celebrate your life changes.

Let the magic dust fly and the champagne bottles pop with sparkling bubbles to delight you as you celebrate your light in the light of the Harvest Moon!

Harvest Moon Ritual

  • Go outside bask in the light of the moon.
  • Go within! Recognize and acknowledge what you have cultivated – and celebrate!
  • Next inside in the light of the full moon, create a small space. Place your favorite items there and light a candle.
  • Or you can just light a candle and write in your journal. Whatever works for you!
  • Reflecting on the past nine years, what can you celebrate in yourself?
  • What have you cultivated to make you shine and sparkle your light now?
  • How are you sensitive to your child’s needs where others would overlook them?
  • If you don’t have time to create the space look at the moon before you go to bed. Think back and celebrate in a quiet moment your successes as a person and a parent.
  • Post and let us know! We’d love to celebrate with you!!!.

Dancing in the light of the moon,

Bonnie
